Four Second-Place Finishes for Men's Track & Field at TCNJ

EWING, N.J. (4/26/14) - Four second-place finishes highlighted the Lions Invitational for the Princeton men’s track & field team on Saturday at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ).

Sophomore Greg Caldwell earned a second-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles as he crossed the line in 14.63. Junior Stephen Soerens was seventh at 15.57.

In the 400 hurdles, freshman Greg Leeper was the runner-up at 54.83. Sophomore Jordan Myers came in at 55.28 for fourth place. Leeper went on to take eighth in the long jump with a mark of 6.41. Finishing three places higher was freshman Victor Du. Du leapt to 6.46, his best jump of the season.

Senior Omar Jarrett tied for second place in the high jump, as he cleared 2.05. Freshman Xavier Bledsoe was eighth as he got over 1.80. Earning the win in the event was volunteer coach Justin Frick. Representing Shore AC, Frick cleared 2.15.

Senior Jake Taylor was the top collegiate and finished in second place overall in the hammer throw. Taylor threw to 53.47, while Vic Youn was ninth with a toss of 44.87.

In the pole vault, senior David Coneway and sophomore Bryan Oslin tied for fourth place as the pair cleared 4.50. Another fourth-place finish came from senior Brad Pelisek in the javelin. Pelisek threw the javelin to 56.49.

Two top-10 finishes came in the 100-meter. Junior Tommaso Greenbaum clocked 11.04 for fourth place and freshman Brent Albertson was seventh at 11.19.

Princeton hosts the Elite Meet next Saturday, May 3 in the final meet before the Ivy League Heptagonals.
