The Princeton Chase brings both rowers and fans alike to Lake Carnegie during one of the highlights of the fall racing season.
This Sunday, Oct. 28, the Shea Rowing Center will be hosting the Princeton Chase on Lake Carnegie. Unlike the Charles, the Chase is exclusevly a college event and it provides each team with the opportunity to race their athletes at least twice; once in the morning in an 8+, and again in the afternoon in a 4+.

The 2012 Princeton Chase is the largest ever with 431 boats now entered. This year’s schedule is as follows:

10:00 • Heavy Men’s 8+
10:30 • Light Men’s 8+
11:00 • Women’s 8+
12:00 • Heavy Men’s 4+
12:30 • Novice Women’s 8+
1:00 • Freshman Men’s 8+
1:30 • Light Men’s 4+
2:30 • Small Boats (1x/ 2x/ 2-)
3:00 • Women’s 4+

The Princeton Chase course is 2.75 miles long. The start of the race is the normal finish line at the Kingston end of Lake Carnegie. The finish is just before the Washington Road bridge. Spectators may watch the racing from the start located just off Route 27 (Nassau Street) at the Kingston end of the lake, the Harrison Street bridge or the finish at the Washington Road bridge located near the Princeton boathouse.

Spectator parking for the event can be found either in Lot 21 across Faculty Road next to Jadwin Gym, or across the Washington Road Bridge along the West Windsor playing fields. The Course Map on the website indicates where all of the parking areas are located.

This weekend, all of the Princeton freshman squads will also head down to Philadelphia on Saturday to take part in the Head of the Schuylkill. Race time is 10 in the morning.
