Box Score & Play-by-Play: Game 1 | Game 2

Princeton salvaged a day-two split with Penn to enter the final weekend of the Ivy League season still mathematically alive in the divisional race.

Penn's three-run second inning in the opener gave the Quakers a lead and it turned out to be all Penn needed to pick up a 6-2 win. Though the Tigers clawed out a run each in the second and third innings, Penn's Alexis Borden kept Princeton off the board over the last four innings and had only one Tiger in scoring position over that span.

In the second game, it was Princeton that jumped ahead early and held on for the 9-6 win. Between the second, third and fourth innings, Princeton rolled up a 9-1 lead. Although the Tigers were an out away from ending it early, Penn fought back to scratch out a run in the top of the fifth and had more in store in the sixth, pulling within 9-6 and bringing the tying run to the plate. Reliever Meredith Brown got out of that jam and allowed just one baserunner in the seventh to nail down the win for Erica Nori.

Haley Hineman was 4 for 7 with three runs batted in during Sunday's doubleheader. She had a two-RBI double in the third inning of game two that put Princeton ahead 4-0, and she added another RBI single in the fourth to make it 6-0.

In the first game, Sydney Turchin's two-run double put Penn up 3-0 in the second inning and it turned out to be all Penn needed to hold off the Tigers.

In game two, Haley Hineman's two-run double only put Princeton ahead 4-0 in a game the Tigers ended up winning 9-6, but it was the first multi-RBI hit of the weekend for Princeton.

• Princeton remains mathematically alive in the Ivy South race but will need a sweep next week and to have a lot go its way in the Penn-Columbia series. In addition to going 4-0 against Cornell, Princeton will have to see Columbia take three of four - no more, no less - from Penn, and for Harvard to beat Penn in their suspended game. That would put Princeton, Columbia and Penn all at 11-9 to end the regular season.

• In the Ivy North, Brown surprised Dartmouth by splitting Sunday's doubleheader for the Bears' first Ivy win. After Harvard plays a make-up doubleheader Tuesday at Cornell, the Crimson and the Big Green will battle for the Ivy North title next weekend, Harvard presently at 13-0 and Dartmouth at 15-1.

• Princeton junior Cara Worden saw her nine-game hitting streak come to an end Sunday, but it was the longest hitting streak for any Tiger this season.

Princeton will host Cornell next Saturday and Sunday at the Class of 1895 Field in 12:30 p.m. doubleheaders to wrap the regular season.
