ALL-ACCESS: TIGER WRESTLING

The six-match win streak for the Princeton wrestling team ended Friday night in Dillon Gym, as the Rider Broncs used four narrow victories to claim a 21-15 win over the Tigers.

Princeton won four matches on the night, but it can look back on what could have been. A pair of overtime losses, as well as a one-point loss at 133 and a two-point loss at 165 was too much for the Tigers to overcome.

After a fall for Rider in the first match, Chuck Zeisloft held off Princeton senior Garrett Frey 3-2 at 133 to open a 9-0 lead. Freshman Jordan Laster tried to cut into that deficit in the next match, but he fell 8-6 in overtime to Paul Kirchner at 141.

Junior Adam Krop got Princeton on the board with a 10-4 win at 149, and sophomore Kevin Moylan followed up with a 9-5 win at 157. The Tigers had been making a habit of using big runs to overcome early deficits, but Rider had an answer this time.

The Broncs got a 5-3 win at 165, and a 7-3 win at 174, to set up a big showdown between Rider's Clint Morrison (15-3) and Prineton freshman Brett Harner (23-9). The match lived up to the hype, as Morrison used an overtime takedown to claim a 10-8 win over Harner.

Princeton picked up the final two matches of the evening, starting with an injury default win for Abram Ayala at 197, and concluding with a 4-2 win for freshman Ray O'Donnell at 285.

Princeton will look to end its season in style Sturday at 1 pm when it hosts the Penn Quakers on Senior Day. A victory for the Tigers would be their first over Penn since the 1990-91 season, a stretch of 21 straight matches, and would clinch sole possession of second place in the Ivy League. The match will be streamed live on the Ivy League Digital Network.
