Princeton won five of six events during an impressive Day 1 at the 2012 Brown Invitational, held at the brand new Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center in Providence, and will enter Saturday with a 94-point lead over Yale.

Princeton, which won both relays and a trio of individual events, currently has 343 points, while Yale is second with 249 points. Dartmouth is third with 197, while host Brown has 149 points.

Princeton opened the night with a hard-fought victory in the 200 free relay, as the quartet of Lisa Boyce, Sada Stewart, Elizabeth McDonald and Carter Stephens held off Yale for a win in 1:32.80. The Tigers also had the top 'B' team in the field, as the foursome of Morgan Karetnick, Megan Lydzinski, Laura Slater and Sarah Liang finished sixth overall in 1:35.36.

Senior Jillian Altenburger finished second in the 500 free with a time of 4:51.49, while freshman India Boland placed seventh in 4:54.87 and junior Maureen McCotter took eighth in 4:57.53.

A pair of Princeton freshmen battled for the top spot in the 200 IM, and Beverly Nguyen took the win in 2:01.93. Stewart took second in 2:02.31, while fellow freshmen Nikki Larson (2:03.39) and Morgan Karetnick (2:04.59) placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Altenburger gave Princeton a fifth finalist and took seventh in 2:05.28.

Two of the top swimmers in the Ivy League met in the 50 free, and Boyce topped Yale senior Alex Forrester in a B-cut time of 22.52 to take the win. Stephens added a sixth-place finish in 23.61, while Larson finished eighth in 23.88.

Junior Rachel Zambrowicz, a former Ivy League Championships Diver of the Meet, won the 3-meter competition with a score of 265.65.

Princeton closed the day with a win in the 400 medley relay, as the team of Stewart, senior Sarah Furgatch, Larson and Boyce took the win in 3:42.31.
