Sophomore Lisa Boyce, a four-time individual Ivy League champion in her career, made her NCAA Championships debut Thursday afternoon at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center in Auburn, Ala.
Boyce competed in the 50 free, which she won during the opening session of the 2012 Ivy League Championships. She didn't make it to the evening 'A' or 'B' finals, though, as her preliminary time of 22.77 was 46th in the field. The time was less than .4 of a second out of the Top-16, but Boyce will still have two chances to compete for All-America status.
She will compete in the 100 back Friday, an event she has won each of the last two years at the Ivy League Championships. Her 100 back time of 52.96 is 30th fastest in the nation.
On Saturday, she will compete in the 100 free.
