Princeton squash coaches Bob Callahan and Gail Ramsay join the latest edition of TigerCast to talk about their top players and the key months ahead for their programs.
Callahan has coached several individual national champions, including four-time champion Yasser El Halaby '06, but few players have had the kind of dominant year that Todd Harrity achieved in 2011. The junior won his first individual title by winning his final 54 straight games, including all 15 in the CSA individual championships. He went on to play a key role for the U.S. in the World Team Championships last summer, and is undefeated through the early part of this season. Callahan talks about Harrity and where his team stands in a season when Princeton will host the CSA team championships.
Ramsay also has a top junior in Julie Cerullo, who enters the season ranked third nationally. Cerullo reached the national semifinals last season and has even higher aspirations in 2012. He is also one of the veterans for a Princeton team that has started seven underclassmen already this season. Ramsay talks about her No. 1 player, the youth within the program and the closeness of the league.
