Princeton Director of Athletics Gary Walters and Dr. Gabe Lewullis have been featured on videos released today in advance of the 2011 tournament. Both Lewullis and Walters made multiple NCAA tournament appearances as undergrads at Princeton.
The Walters video on the blog for The Daiy, a digital news publication produced directly for the I-Pad, discusses the Princeton AD's experiences on the NCAA Division I men's basketball committee. Walters was a member of the committee for five years and the tournament chair in 2008.
In the video, Walters references the different philosophies that he used while assisting or overseeing the selections for the Division I tournament.
Dr. Lewullis, an orthopedic surgeon, made the layup that beat UCLA in the opening round of the 1996 NCAA tournament and then went on to have one of the best careers by a Princeton basketball player in the last 30 years. Lewullis ranks ninth all-time in scoring at Princeton with 1,277 career points.
Lewullis' video is featured on the ncaa.com website as part of the Human Highlight Reel series. In the video, Lewullis talks about a charity called "Our Future Stars," which promotes athletic competition and good health for kids.
During the video, Lewullis introduces himself by saying "I'm Gabe Lewullis, and I ruined your bracket in the 1996 NCAA tournament."
