Princeton and Rider will meet Tuesday for the first time since 2007 when the Tigers make the short trip to Lawrenceville for a 3 p.m. doubleheader. Live stats for the games are available here.
The Tigers will aim to snap a six-game skid when they make their first visit to Lawrenceville since 2006. Princeton has won six in a row in the series with Rider's last win coming in 2004. The teams had met annually since 1986 before the series went on hiatus following the 2007 doubleheader in Princeton.
Tuesday's game was due to come after a two-day break following Princeton's opening weekend against Harvard and Dartmouth, but weather intervened and postponed the Crimson twinbill indefinitely and the Dartmouth games to Monday.
Rider's (2-15) season has also been racked by poor weather. The Broncs started 2-4 at a North Carolina A&T-hosted tournament from Feb. 21-23 but didn't play again until March 15 in South Carolina. Since resuming the slate, the Broncs are on an 11-game skid. Rider is hitting .240 as a team for the season with two regular starters - Amanda Irving (.333) and Emily Cottrell (.326) - hitting over .300. Kaitlyn Kallert leads the team with 38 1/3 innings and a 1-5 record with a 5.84 ERA.
Senior Maddie Cousens leads the Tigers with a .313 average at the plate. Erica Nori and Shanna Christian have emerged as the top two pitchers, with the rookie Nori carrying a 3-4 record and 2.06 ERA and Christian a 2-7 record and 4.97 ERA.
Princeton's Ivy League season will resume Saturday at Yale.
