As both prepare to open their Ivy League seasons, seniors Maddie Cousens (softball) and Jonathan York (baseball) join the latest edition of TigerCast.
Cousens is a catcher and outfielder for the Tigers, and she leads the team with a .286 batting average. One of only two seniors on the team, Cousens will lead the Tigers into the Ivy-opening home doubleheaders with both Harvard and Dartmouth this weekend. She discusses the youth on the roster, the early battles against both a tough schedule and Mother Nature, and her optimism in the team as Ivy League play begins.
York may be entering his senior season, but he is dealing with a very new position as he enters the Ivy League season. After a handful of pitchers graduated last season, head coach Scott Bradley asked York to work on the mound because of his strong arm in the outfield. In just a few months, he has developed into Princeton's closer, though he also played some outfield last weekend. He discusses the transition, as well as the weekend doubleheaders with Harvard and Dartmouth this weekend.
TigerCast, presented by PNC Bank, is the official podcast of Princeton Athletics. Previous episodes of TigerCast can be downloaded for free anytime at GoPrincetonTigers.com.
