Final Stats

It's always tough to win at home in the Princeton-Johns Hopkins men's lacrosse series. It's even tougher when the visitor is on fire.

For the 11th time in the last 13 on-campus meetings between the two, it was the road team that came away victorious. This time it was Johns Hopkins, which rode an efficient offense and a career day from attackman Ryan Brown to a 15-9 win over Princeton in front of 2,540 at Sherrerd Field at Class of 1952 Stadium.

The win improved fifth-ranked Hopkins to 4-0, while No. 9 Princeton is now 2-1. It doesn't get any easier for the Tigers, who host second-ranked North Carolina this Friday.

TURNING POINT OF THE GAME

After Princeton and Hopkins were even at 4-4 at the end of the first quarter, the Blue Jays turned it way up with an 8-1 run that covered the entire second quarter and most of the third. By the time Princeton scored its first goal of the second half, it was 12-5 Johns Hopkins.

STAT OF THE GAME

Johns Hopkins scored 15 goals on 35 shots, and Princeton acutally outshot Johns Hopkins 37-35 for the day.

PLAYER OF THE GAME

Sophomore Ryan Brown of Johns Hopkins had career highs with five goals and eight points, beating his previous bests of four and six.

PRINCETON PLAYER OF THE GAME

Ryan Ambler matched his own career high with five points (2G, 3A). Ambler matched his previous best effort, which he set one week ago against Hofstra.

STREAKS

Tom Schreiber had three goals, giving him at least three points in 19 straight games and in 40 of 47 games in his career. Schreiber also has at least one point in 35 straight games.. Kip Orban had a goal, giving him at least one in 15 straight games, while Mike MacDonald had a goal and assist, running his own streak of consecutive games with a goal to 13 straight. Both Orban and MacDonald have at least one point in 18 straight games.

CAREER LEADERS

Tom Schreiber moved into a tie with Dave Heubeck for 18th place all-time in goals at Princeton with 83. With 162 points, he is also now one away from David Tickner for ninth-place all-time at Princeton and two away from Justin Tortolani fro eighth. Mike MacDonald needs one more point to reach 100 for his career.
