COMPLETE RESULTS

In their final home performance at DeNunzio Pool, seniors Mark O'Connell and Ian Rea helped lead the five-time defending Ivy League champion Princeton men's swimming and diving team to a 186-94 home win over Columbia in the Tigers' regular season finale.

Rea was impressive in winning a pair of events. He took the 50 free in 20.44, topping teammate Harrison Wagner by .31 of a second, and he won the 100 fly in 48.61. Teammate Oliver Bennett finished second in the 100 fly in 49.16.

While Rea won two swimming events, O'Connell won the 1-meter diving competition with 322.72 points. He nearly pulled off the double, scoring 347.92 points off the 3-meter board, but Columbia's Micah Rembrandt took the win by less than a single point.

While those senior wins may have been the most memorable, it was a deep team effort for Princeton that helped the Tigers win their sixth meet of the season. The effort started in the 200 medley relay, as the quartet of Michael Strand, Teo D'Alessandro, Brooks Powell and Wagner took the win in 1:29.50.

Freshman Lance Rutkin (9:26.58) and sophomore Zach Ridout (9:26.95) were 1-2 in a thrilling 1000 finale, while freshman Julian Mackrel won the 200 free in 1:38.16. Sophomore En-Wei Hu-Van Wright won the 100 back in 49.66, edging classmate Brooks Powell (50.08). Another sophomore duo posted a thriller in the 100 breast, as Byron Sanborn (57.00) edged D'Alessandro (57.30).

Junior Caleb Tuten took fourth in the 200 fly in 1:51.14, but Mackrel came back with a win in the 100 free in 44.83. Sophomore Andrew Helber won the 200 back in 1:49.91, and Tuten bounced back to edge senior Eric Materniak in the 200 breast; Tuten won in 2:02.30, while Materniak was second in 2:04.00.

Freshman Jeffrey Williamson won the 500 in 4:35.02, and D'Alessandro took the 200 IM in 1:49.63. Princeton rounded out the night with a win in the 200 free relay, as the quartet of Hu-Van Wright, Connor Maher, Jeremy Wong and Brooks Powell posted a win in 1:22.31.

Princeton is now off for three weeks, and will return to Blodgett Pool, site of the thrilling 2011 5.5-point Ivy Championship victory over Harvard, for the 2014 Ivy League Championships.
