Katherine Flanigan toppled ranked opponent Cierra Gaytan-Leach of Missouri Friday afternoon as the Princeton women's tennis team opened its season at tournaments in Kansas City and Philadelphia.

The Kansas City contingent, which included Flanigan, Emily Hahn, Alanna Wolff and Dorothy Tang, battled players from Nebraska and Oklahoma State in doubles before Flanigan, Hahn and rookie Alanna Wolff picked up wins against a trio of Missouri players in singles at Missouri's Aces for the Cure event.

Flanigan's win came over 72nd-ranked Gaytan-Leach in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, while Hahn beat Missouri's No. 2 singles player, Elisha Gabb, 6-4, 2-6 (10-6), and Wolff topped Rachel Stuhlmann 6-1, 6-1.

Nebraska's two doubles pairs got the better of both of their Princeton opponents, with Maggy Lehmicke and Mary Hanna defeating Hahn and Flanigan 8-7 and Lisa Andersson and Brittany Brewster defeating Wolff and fellow rookie Dorothy Tang 8-4.

Wolff and Tang had Princeton's lone doubles win in four tries in Missouri Friday, with the freshman pair defeating Oklahoma State's Karyn Guttormsen and Maria Alvarez 8-4. Kanyapat Narattana and Carla Tur Mari of Oklahoma State defeated Hahn and Flanigan 8-7.

Three Tigers at the Cissie Leary tournament in Philadelphia combined to win two out of three singles and two of two doubles matches on the event's first day, with Sivan Krems and Caroline Joyce victorious in Round of 32 singles. Joyce and Joan Cannon teamed for a Round of 32 doubles win, while the odd number of Tigers put Krems with Penn State's Katherine Whiteaway to get doubles win in the same round.

Complete draws for the Leary tournament are available here.

Both tournaments will continue through Sunday.
