BOX SCORE

Princeton scored three runs in the second inning with hopes of a weekend split in its final series before the Ivy League season, but Navy rallied for two in the seventh and the winner in the 11th to earn a 5-4 victory Sunday afternoon.

Alec Keller, Danny Hoy, Mike Ford and Alex Flink each had multiple-hit games for the Tigers, who grabbed a 3-0 lead in the second inning on a single to left field by Keller. The inning, which also included an RBI single by Flink and a run-scoring sacrifice fly by Tyler Servais, gave starter Kevin Link a three-run lead early.

Link gave Princeton a chance to win, though Navy was able to scatter enough hits to eventually tie the score at 4-4 in the seventh. Navy scored one in the fourth and one in the sixth, though Princeton regained its two-run edge in the seventh on an RBI groundout by Ford.

The trouble for Link came with nobody on and two outs in the seventh, as Navy's next two batters singled and designated hitter Dave Milanes drove a two-run double to right field to tie the score.

Princeton loaded the bases in both the ninth and 11th innings, but a pair of groundouts ended both rallies. A sacrifice bunt by Navy in the bottom of the 11th inning turned into the game-winning run on an error by reliever Cameron Mingo.

Princeton fell to 2-16 on the season, but the Tigers will get new life next weekend when they open the Ivy League season at Clarke Field with doubleheaders against both Yale (Saturday) and Brown (Sunday). Princeton swept Yale last season and split a doubleheader with Brown, with both coming on the road.
