COMPLETE RESULTS

Freshmen Beverly Nguyen and Sada Stewart each earned individual victories during Saturday's second day of the Brown Invitational, and it helped the Tigers build a sizable lead heading into the final day of the event.

Princeton currently has 723 points, well ahead of second-place Yale's total of 569 points. Brown is third with 436, while Dartmouth is fourth with 396.

Princeton opened the evening session with a tight second-place finish in the 200 medley relay. The quartet of Lisa Boyce, Sarah Furgatch, Carter Stephens and Nikki Larson finished in 1:42.06, less than two-tenths of a second off Yale's winning time.

Tiger freshman Beverly Nguyen won the 400 IM in 4:18.58, while teammate Rebecca Lewinson added a 'B' final win of her own in 4:27.48.

The Tigers loaded up the 100 fly final, and while none could top Yale's Alex Forrester, Princeton added huge points in the event. Boyce (53.47) and Stewart (53.47) went 2-3 in the event, followed immediately by Larson (54.32), Stephens (54.73) and Morgan Karetnick (55.11). Nguyen even followed up her win in the 400 IM by reaching the 'A' final, where she finished eighth in 56.36.

Senior Jillian Altenburger was Princeton's lone finalist in the 200 free, and she took third in 1:49.74. Fellow senior Furgatch added a third-place finish in the 100 breast (1:04.42), while Sarah Liang won the 'B' final in 1:05.39.

Stewart challenged reigning Ivy League champ Boyce in the 100 back final, and it was the freshman who came up with the victory Saturday night. Stewart won the event in a B-cut time of 54.20, while Boyce finished second in 54.81, which also hit the B-cut mark. Shirley Wang added a third-place finish in 55.41.

The 800 free relay squad of Larson, Elizabeth McDonald, Altenburger and Stewart won in 7:21.32, while divers Rachel Zambrowicz (231.35) and Randi Brown (226.30) barely missed the A-final in the 1-meter competition.

Princeton will conclude the Brown Invitational Sunday, with preliminaries starting at 10 am and finals starting at 5 pm.
