PRINCETON, N.J. (10/9/12) - The Princeton men's soccer team took No. 24-ranked Creighton to overtime but the Bluejays had the last say as Benito Amaral scored in the 96th minute for the 3-2 win.

Jose Gomez picked up his third assist of the night when he threaded the ball down the right flank to Amaral. Amaral took it to the corner and fired near post and into the back of the netting to end the game.

It was a tightly contested match between the two programs that were meeting for the first time. Shots ended 16-15 in favor of Creighton, which improves to 8-3-2 on the season.

Junior goalkeeper Seth MacMillan made four saves in goal for the Tigers, who were playing in their third straight overtime game.

On the other end of the field Alex Bolowich stopped five including two on a penalty shot by senior Matt Sanner in the 84th minute. It was Bolowich who gave up the penalty shot after tackling Dylan Bowman, but he came up with a save on Sanner's kick and then another save as Sanner got the loose ball and fired his own rebound.

Bolowich wasn't so lucky in the 56th minute when Sanner did convert on Princeton's first penalty kick of the game. It was also Princeton's first of the season. Brendan Hines-Ike was called for a handball in the box and Sanner took the shot and fired straight on net. The penalty would tie the game at 2-2.

The Tigers got on the board early in the 9th minute when sophomore Myles McGinley scored on a Mark Linnville throw-in. Linnville put the ball into the box where it was headed by sophomore Cameron Porter and then put away with a low shot by McGinley.

Creighton made it a 1-1 game in the 25th minute with a goal from Sean Kim off the bench. Gomez sent a through ball with a quick flick to Kim who was unimpeded on his way to the goal. Jose Ribas gave the Bluejays the 2-1 lead in the 55th minute when he headed in a centering pass from Gomez.

Princeton is now 5-4-1 on the season, with three losses coming to teams in the top-25. The Tigers conclude a five-game homestand and resume Ivy League play with a road game at Columbia on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 4 p.m.
