"I want to thank Gary Walters for the opportunity he entrusted me with five years ago and the entire Princeton athletic family for their continuous support and friendship throughout my eight years on staff," Salcido said.
Salcido coached the Princeton softball team for five seasons, taking over for former coach Maureen Barron in 2008 after serving as her assistant coach for three seasons. In 2008, Salcido guided Princeton to the NCAA tournament after an 18-2 Ivy League mark that remains a league record for wins in an Ivy season. Salcido finished with a career record of 81-136 overall and 47-53 in the Ivy League.
"We would like to thank Trina for her contribution to the softball program, and we wish her well in the future," Gary Walters, the Ford Family Director of Athletics at Princeton, said.
A national search for Salcido's successor will begin immediately.
