Spring Academic All-Ivy League Selections Announced

The spring Academic All-Ivy League selections have been announced by each of the eight schools.

The Academic All-Ivy League program has each league institution select five male athletes and five female athletes per season who have achieved a high grade-point average and made a significant contribution to their team.

Princeton's 10 selections for the spring 2011 are:

Men

Matt Bowman (baseball) - A sophomore from Chevy Chase, Md., Bowman is a second-team All-Ivy shortstop. He is majoring in economics.

Mike Eddy (track) - A senior from Asheboro, N.C., Eddy is a NCAA Championship qualifier in the 4x400 and a NCAA Regional qualifier in the 400. He finished first in the 4x400 and second in the 400 at the Ivy League Outdoor Championships. He earned a degree in geosciences.

Tyler Fiorito (lacrosse) - A junior from Phoenix, Md., Fiorito was a third-team All-America and a first-team All-Ivy selection. He is majoring in political science.

Christian Klein (lightweight rowing) - A senior from Hendon, Va., Klien is a two-time EARC and IRA national champion. He earned a degree in molecular biology.

Blake Parsons (heavyweight rowing) - A senior from Toronto, Parsons was named second-team All-Ivy. He has a degree in mechanical & aerospace engineering.

Women

Hilary Bartlett (tennis) - A junior from New York City, Barlett captured first-team All-Ivy honors in singles and doubles. She is in the Woodrow Wilson School.

Ashton Brown (rowing) - A senior from Calgary, Brown is a first-team All-Ivy selection and a member of Princeton's NCAA champion varsity eight boat. She earned a degree in economics.

Lizzy Drumm (lacrosse) - A senior from Westbury, N.Y., Drumm was team captain, second-team All-American, first-team all-region and first-team All-Ivy. She earned a degree in art & archeology.

Kelly Pierce (rowing) - A junior from Perth, Australia, Pierce was named first-team All-Ivy as a ,ember of Princeton's NCAA champion varsity eight boat.

Lizzy Pierce (softball) - A sophomore from Modesto, Calif., Pierce is a first-team All-Ivy selection playing in the outfield.
