Softball to Begin Spring Trip to California Saturday in San Jose

Princeton will head out for its annual spring trip beginning Saturday in San Jose, Calif., where the Tigers will face host San Jose State and Santa Clara twice each between Saturday and Sunday.

Later in the week, Princeton will have doubleheaders at Sacramento State and Pacific and then play in Santa Clara's tournament next weekend.

The Tigers enter with a record of 1-6, opening with a tournament at Central Florida and continuing last Saturday with a home twinbill against Hartford. All 19 players on the roster, including all five freshmen, have seen game action, and 17 of the 19 players have made a start. Junior Rachel Rendina leads the team with five hits on the season, though 13 Tigers have recorded a hit through the team's first seven games.

In the circle, all four pitchers have thrown between nine and 13 innings on the season led by sophomore Shanna Christian at 1-2 with a 3.07 ERA in 13.2 innings.
