Alex Peyton went 14 1/3 innings in her collegiate finale, and the senior will close her career with an Ivy League Pitcher of the Week honor.

In her first game of the weekend Saturday at Cornell, Peyton gave up only two hits and an unearned run in seven innings, helping the Tigers to a 3-1 win. The next day, Peyton dueled into the 15th inning in Princeton's longest game since 2004 before giving up the game's only run in a 1-0 loss to the Big Red.

In Saturday's second game, Peyton went 3 for 5 at the plate with two home runs, giving her 11 for the season and making her just the sixth player in Princeton history to hit that many home runs in a season. She finished with 24 home runs for her career, making her the fifth-leading home run hitter in program history.

The pitching award is Peyton's second of the season after winning one on April 2 and third of her career after winning her first as a sophomore in 2011. The award is Princeton's third pitching award of the season, with freshman Shanna Christian winning the season's first one on March 5.

The Tigers finished their campaign at 27-19 overall and 12-8 in the Ivy League, their best overall record since 2006 and their best Ivy League record since 2008. Peyton led the team in home runs (11), RBI (36), total bases (90), slugging percentage (.643), walks received (26), ERA (2.09), pitching appearances (19) and starts (17), complete games (13), innings pitched (120 2/3), batters struck out (83), and opponents' low batting average (.236).
