Caitlin Blosser, Jen Hoy and Diane Metcalf-Leggette were three of Princeton's eight All-Ivy League honorees.

The Princeton women's soccer program was honored Thursday by the Ivy League like it has never been before.

Five members of the 2012 Ivy League champions were named to the first-team All-Ivy League, tying a program record set in 1981. Eight members of the team were awarded All-Ivy honors in all, including two on the second team and one honorable mention, a program record for total number of players honored as it surpassed the seven honorees had in 2000, 2002 and 2004.

But the biggest news of the day went to Jen Hoy, who was named the Ivy League Player of the Year. It is Princeton's eighth Ivy League Player of the Year honor, tying Princeton with Harvard for the most ever, and it is the sixth player under head coach Julie Shackford to be named the Ivy's top player, tying her with Brown coach Phil Pincince for the most honorees under one coach. Princeton's last Ivy League Player of the Year was Diana Matheson '08 in 2007.

Here are summaries on Princeton's eight All-Ivy League honorees:

Jen Hoy, Ivy League Player of the Year, first-team, senior, forward: Scored 17 goals, the second-most in Princeton history (Esmeralda Negron '04) and the most in the Ivy League since Negron ... led the Ivy in scoring and points, standing third in the nation in goals per game (1.0) ... had three hat tricks this season, against Colgate, Lafayette and Lehigh ... first-team All-Ivy 2011, second-team All-Ivy 2010.

Gabriella Guzman, first-team, junior, midfielder: Had two goals in Ivy League play, against Yale and Harvard ... had five assists, including three in Ivy games ... honorable mention All-Ivy 2010.
