BOX SCORE

The Princeton men's volleyball team moved above the .500 mark for the first time this season and grabbed a share of first place in the EIVA with a 3-1 comeback win over Sacred Heart Friday night in Dillon Gym.

The win, Princeton's sixth straight and seventh in the last eight matches, moved Princeton to 6-1 in EIVA play. That is good enough to share first place with Penn State, which Princeton defeated 3-2 last weekend. Harvard fell 3-0 at George Mason Friday night, and will take on Princeton Saturday at 4 pm in Dillon Gym.

Friday's win didn't capture many style points, but it did show plenty of resolve against an aggressive Sacred Heart squad. After struggling mightily in the opening set, the Tigers raced out to a 25-17 win in the second set to even the match. Sacred Heart led 20-17 in the third set, but a sideout and seven straight points off the serve of junior Will Siroky gave Princeton a 2-1 lead, and the Tigers fought off one set ball in the fourth before scoring a 27-25 win.

Junior Cody Kessel, the two-time reigning EIVA Offensive Player of the Week, led Princeton with 12 kills, while Siroky had seven kills, six blocks and hit .545 in the victory. Both outsides Pat Schwagler and Devin Stearns had 10 kills apiece, while freshman setter Chris Kennedy had 36 assists, four digs and three blocks.

Schwagler led the defense with 10 digs and five blocks, while junior Tony Ensbury had nine digs. Both Stearns and Junior Oboh had four blocks apiece.
