The Tigers took off immediately and never looked back, as the No. 18 Princeton men's water polo team dropped Dartmouth, 18-13, Sunday at the Ivy League Championship in New Haven, Conn. Due to the impending Hurricane Sandy, the remainder of the tournament has been cancelled.

Led by a seven-goal first quarter, Princeton quickly established control and went into halftime up 8-5.

Making his first start of the year, Brendan Byrne took over goaltending duties for the Tigers. Byrne played the first half, making three saves and grabbing two steals.

Following the break, the Tigers outscored the Big Green 10-6 to stay atop the club program. The win does not affect Princeton's overall record and is considered an exhibition victory.

Second half goalkeeper Tyler Amina tallied nine saves, two steals and an assist over his 16 minutes of action.

The Tigers were led by Matt Weber's six-goal effort. He was one of nine Tigers to see the back of the net in the contest.

Kurt Buchbinder served as the team's second-leading scorer with three goals, while A.J. Galainena and Jack Ruth each netted a pair. Sam Butler, Adam Lebovitz, Constantine Nakos, Matt Pugliese and Kevin Zhang scored once apiece to round out Princeton's scorers.

The Tigers (12-10, 5-3 Southern) head next to Lewisburg, Pa. for the CWPA Southern Championship from Nov. 2-4.
