Men's Soccer Suffers 1-0 Defeat at Adelphi
GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (10/17/12) - The Princeton men's soccer team nearly doubled Adelphi in shots but a goal by Jordan Hibbert in the 56th minute would lift the Panthers to a 1-0 win over the Tigers on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at Motamed Field.
The Panthers goal came off a corner kick, as Jordan Hibbert headed in a ball from Domenico Parrelli who put the ball right into the box.
Princeton had a 17-9 differential in shots, included a 12-6 edge in the second half. Both teams had five corner kicks apiece.
The Tigers controlled the ball for most of the first half and had five shots to the Panthers' three, but neither team had a shot on frame.
Senior Max Gallin earned his first start since Sept. 8 and made one save.
Ahmad Salahmah made three saves in goal for Adelphi. Two were on shots from sophomore Cameron Porter and the third from junior Lester Nare, who returned to the pitch after missing two games with an leg injury.
Princeton returns to Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 20. The Tigers host Harvard in an Ivy League showdown at 4 p.m., in the first game of a doubleheader with the women's squad.
