The Princeton women's soccer team has one weekend of spring scrimmages remaining and will take on Monmouth and Drexel Saturday on Plummer Field at Roberts Stadium.
Last weekend, the Tigers defeated Seton Hall 1-0 and St. John's 2-1 in a pair of 60-minute games. Rising senior Jen Hoy, rising junior Erika Hoglund, and rising sophomore Liana Cornacchio scored the goals.
Monmouth and Princeton will meet at 9 a.m. Saturday for the first 60-minute game before the Tigers take on Drexel at 11:30 a.m.
Princeton ended the 2011 season strong, winning five of its last seven games.
Hoy, Hoglund and Cornacchio were three of 13 Tigers who scored a goal last season. Twelve of those 13 return, accounting for 25 of Princeton's 27 goals from last season. In goal, Princeton brings back all five players who saw time between the posts, including rising senior Kristin Watson, who made all eight of her starts over the season's final six weeks.
Drexel finished 6-8-5 a year ago and returns all of its goal scorers except for Jenna Lindsay, who had a team-best six goals last fall. Both of Drexel's goalkeepers, Eve Badana and Victoria Troccolli, also return. Monmouth finished 11-8 last fall and returns 21 of its 34 goals, led by last year's co-leader Monique Plescia with seven. All three of Monmouth's goalkeepers also return.
