Women's Soccer Opens Fall Practice
Gabrielle Ragazzo & Lauren Lazo video interview link
The Princeton women's soccer program opened fall practice last Friday for two weeks of preparation ahead of the team's Sept. 5 opener on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium against Rutgers.
Following the practice, co-captains Gabrielle Ragazzo and Lauren Lazo spoke with GoPrincetonTigers.com as they look ahead to the new season just two years removed from a 7-0-0 Ivy League campaign and a win in the NCAA tournament.
Seven of the nine players who scored goals last season, accounting for all but three of the team's goals in 2013, return for the new campaign, with sophomore Tyler Lussi (10) and Lauren Lazo (five) leading the group. Of the team's 30 assists from last season, 20 belong to players who are back, with Lazo's seven pacing the team in that category.
On the other side of the field, Princeton also returns its most experienced goalkeeper from last season, senior Darcy Hargadon, who accounted for 70 percent of the team's minutes between the posts in 2013.
GoPrincetonTigers.com will have a more expanded season preview next week as the season opener approaches.
