Princeton senior Jen Hoy was selected as the Philly Soccer News area Player of the Year after being among the nation's scoring leaders and guiding the team to the second round of the NCAA tournament after an undefeated Ivy League season.

She remains a candidate for the Soccer News Net Women's College Boot award, which will go to the network of Web sites' national choice. Hoy was one of 36 initial candidates, and voting closed Dec. 23.
Hoy had 18 goals, the second-most in program history, while tying a program record with 17 regular-season goals as the Tigers finished 14-4-1 overall and 7-0-0 in the Ivy League. Hoy was recognized as the Ivy League Player of the Year, an NSCAA second-team All-America and NSCAA first-team All-Mid-Atlantic region.
