As part of its annual spring schedule, the Princeton women's soccer team played two weekends of spring games and held its annual banquet.

After defeating Seton Hall and St. John's in a pair of 60-minute games on April 14, the Tigers shut out Monmouth 4-0 and Drexel 3-0 on April 21. Melissa Downey, Gabriella Guzman, Rachel Saunders and Rebecca Shmoys contributed the goals against the Hawks, while Jessica Haley, Liana Cornacchio and Gabrielle Ragazzo scored against the Dragons.

Over the four 60-minute games, the Tigers only allowed one goal. Princeton used all five goalkeepers on the roster, including rising seniors Kristin Watson and Claire Pinciaro, rising junior Cecilia Di Caprio and rising sophomores Darcy Hargadon and MicKenzie Roberts-Lahti.

The team announced its annual awards and named its 2012 captains at the annual banquet, held at Salt Creek Grille in Princeton, a corporate sponsor of Princeton athletics, on April 22. Senior Co-Captain Sara Chehrehsa '12 (photo at right) won the MVP Award after a season in which she tied for third on the team in points with nine on two goals and five assists. Kalie Bartholomew '12 won the Kathy Kobler Garrett '91 Award, which is "presented annually to that member of the Princeton varsity women's soccer team whose generosity, positive attitude, genuine consideration for others and quiet energy makes her essential to the success of the team." Kobler was a soccer and softball player at Princeton who passed away suddenly in August 2007.

Rising senior Alison Nabatoff and rising junior Gabriella Guzman were named captains for the 2012 season. All-Ivy first teamers Chehrehsa and rising senior Jen Hoy and honorable mentions Lauren Lazo, a rising sophomore, and Kim Menafra '12, also an Academic All-Ivy selection, were recognized for receiving all-league honors. In addition to the team and coaching staff, Academic-Athletic Fellows John Gager and Karen Jezierny, John Barbour from Public Safety and grounds crew member Matt Conti also attended the banquet.
