Volleyball Prepares For Five Matches In Five Days, Opens With EIVA Tilt
TONY ENSBURY ON TIGERCAST
After playing six home matches in 12 days, the Princeton men's volleyball team will open a stretch of five matches in five days Saturday when it heads to Rutgers-Newark for a pair of matches. The Tigers will open with an EIVA showdown against the Scarlet Knights (1 pm), and then take on former league opponent NYU (3 pm).
Following those matches, Princeton will take a Spring Break trip to North Carolina to play a trio of teams in the Conference Carolinas. On Monday at 7, Princeton will be in Misenheimer, N.C., to take on Pfeiffer; two days later, the Tigers will head to Mount Olive, N.C., for Wednesday showdowns against both Barton (5 pm) and Mount Olive (7 pm).
The Tigers (7-7, 6-2 EIVA) will head into that stretch in third place in the EIVA, though still in contention to host the league championships at the end of April. A victory over Rutgers-Newark (4-8, 0-6) would give Princeton the same league record as Harvard, though the Crimson would have a season-ending tiebreaker due to head-to-head results.
NYU is currently 12-7 on the season.
Pfeiffer, Barton and Mount Olive are each competing for the Conference Carolinas title, and both Pfeiffer and Mount Olive are currently among the Top 3 in the league standings.
