Opening Statement

First of all, I would just like to say how excited and honored we are to be here. This team has had a lot of firsts, and most of their goals were met. Win the Ivy League, go undefeated, lose no more than four games, get in the Top 25, get the highest NCAA seed. There is one left: that is to get a postseason win. This is a group that is looking to make history. They have earned everything they have been given. One thing we know about the NCAA Tournament, is that there are no bad teams. The bigger the game the better we want to play.

On what it means for this team to have the first Ivy League win in 13 years

The hardest part of this journey is that you want to take the time to enjoy it. The day we had last week I will never forget, being able to finally see your goals come to life. This team is so hungry, they live for this, they are all focused. I want to sit back and enjoy it, but I just can't because I know there is so much more ahead for this group. I will look back at this point in my life and it will touch me dearly but I am not there yet, this is about business as usual.

Lauren Edwards, Senior, Guard

On what is as been like for the Princeton Women's Basketball Program in the last week

Waking up Monday morning and seeing our name in the Top 25 Poll - everyone was pretty pumped about that. This is the time of year we all look forward to. It's pretty exciting to see our team come together and accept the challenge on Saturday.

Devona Allgood, Senior, Center

On what is the difference between this year and that last two years being at the tournament

Being in the [NCAA] Tournament the last two years definitely provides us with a lot of experience. These last two it felt like we were going out for the first time, but this year with the experience we should have a different showing.

Niveen Rasheed, Junior, Forward

On what it's like to be playing this year after sitting out last season with injury

Definitely the hardest thing was to sit on the bench and watch the team play, and not give anything besides yelling and cheering. I think about that time, and it made me work even harder to get back to this moment.

Kansas State Head Coach Deb Patterson

On Princeton

They are an excellent basketball team that plays with great chemistry. [Niveen] Rasheed is a tremendous scorer. Their post players bring a physicality and confidence to the floor to the game, plus their guards are versatile. It’s a team that separates itself with consistent excellence and balance and the legitimate national caliber of play they bring to the floor. It reminds me of the Harvard team that took to the floor and upset Stanford when Allyson Fester was playing.
