Princeton's Banghart Honored by Region's Women in Business Alliance
WIBA WOMEN OF ACHIEVEMENT AWARD WINNERS
PRINCETON, N.J. – Princeton University women’s basketball head coach Courtney Banghart has been honored by the Princeton Regional Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Alliance (WIBA) as one of four recipients of the organization’s 2014 Women of Achievement Award.
Presented annually, the award recognizes women in the Princeton region for their unique contributions to their field of interest and who through their work and determination have successfully attained the respect of their peers and the acknowledgement of the business community.
Banghart joined J. Lynne Cannon (Chair of the Board at RWJ University Hospital Hamilton and CEO of Princeton Management Development Institute, Inc.), Yvette Donado (Chief Administrative Officer & Senior Vice President, Educational Testing Service) and Mara Connolly Taft (Co-Founder and Creative Director, Taft & Partners and Co-Owner of PharmApprove) as this year’s awardees.
The women were honored at the organization’s Women of Achievement Awards Breakfast on June 17 at the TPC Jasna Polana in Princeton, N.J. The mission of the WIBA is to provide and promote an environment for business women to connect and build relationships focusing on professional development and growth, collaboration with business and community leaders and advocacy for women's issues.
In seven seasons at the helm of the women’s basketball program, Banghart has amassed a 138-66 overall record and 78-17 Ivy League mark. Inheriting a team that had never played in the NCAA Tournament, she led the Tigers there in four of the last five years. Guiding Princeton to its fifth-straight 20-win season in 2013-14, the team earned its fifth-consecutive (sixth overall) postseason bid, eventually advancing to the second round of the WNIT.
