Rasheed Picks Up Third Consecutive Ivy Player of the Week Accolade
Coming off a pair of double-double performances Princeton women's basketball senior Niveen Rasheed was named Ivy League Player of the Week for the third consecutive week and fifth time this season. This is the 12th time she's picked up the honor making her tied for second all-time in Ivy history.
The co-captain dropped a game-high 25 points, scoring over 20 points for the seventh time this season, versus Dartmouth on Feb. 15. She also made a team-high 12 rebounds, three assists and three steals. Rasheed followed that up with a 17-point, 10-rebound and five-steal game versus Harvard the next night.
Rasheed has scored in double figures in 20 games, including the last 19, and continues to lead the Ivy League in scoring and steals per game with 17.3 and 2.6, respectively. Her consecutive double-doubles brought her season total to nine and 32nd of her career.
She shares the weekly honor with Penn's Keiera Ray.
The Tigers (16-5, 7-0 Ivy) remain at home this weekend hosting Columbia on Friday and Cornell on Saturday.
