Tigers past and future met at the just-concluded Maccabiah Games in Israel, where the U.S. junior team won the gold medal.

Incoming freshman Spencer Weisz was named the team's MVP as the Americans cruised through group play, posting 100-plus points in victories over South Africa, Great Britain and Turkey. The U.S. had a much closer game against Israel in the gold-medal final, winning 78-62. Among Weisz's teammates was Lior Levy, the son of Howie Levy '85.
The gold was one of 27 the U.S. won at the junior level and one of 73 medals overall in junior competitions. That was the second-most medals behind Israel, which won 44 golds and 139 overall.
