Mitch Henderson '98, the Franklin C. Cappon-Edward G. Green '40 head coach of Princeton men's basketball, made the trip to Manhattan Monday afternoon to ring the closing bell at the NASDAQ exchange as part of a delegation from Coaches vs. Cancer, a collaboration of the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
The visit came a day after the Princeton staff wore sneakers during the game The College of New Jersey, whose staff also participated in Suits and Sneakers Weekend.
Henderson joined head coach Mike Rice of Rutgers, St. John's special assistant/advisor and former Purdue head coach Gene Keady, and head coach Mo Cassara of Hofstra were the college coaches in Monday's group at the NASDAQ headquarters in Times Square.
Henderson also headed to New York to ring the NASDAQ bell and visit Yankee Stadium with Coaches vs. Cancer in May 2011, soon after he was hired at Princeton.
Back on campus, Henderson and the Tigers will prepare for the resumption of the Ivy League season Friday in Jadwin Gym against Cornell.
