Princeton men's basketball head coach Mitch Henderson will go to the nation's capital to participate in the Leadership Summit and Lobby Day on September 10.
Coordinated by the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, Henderson and other college basketball coaches will join 600 cancer advocates for a rally that morning before the advocates head to Capitol Hill to meet with their lawmakers.
The event is the latest in a series in which Henderson has taken part on behalf of Coaches Versus Cancer. Only a few weeks after he was hired at Princeton in the spring of 2011, Henderson went with some of his coaching colleagues to Yankee Stadium and the NASDAQ exchange for Coaches Versus Cancer appearances. He returned for an appearance at the stock exchange in January, and he spoke at an American Cancer Society event closer to home in Plainsboro to promote the organization's CPS-3 project to determine the risks that lead to cancer.
Henderson will begin his third season leading the Princeton men's basketball program this fall. To visit the American Cancer Society's Web site, click here.
