For the fifth time this season, Princeton senior forward Ian Hummer has been named the Ivy League Player of the Week.

The honor ties him with Penn alum Zack Rosen and Cornell alum Ryan Wittman, both of whom Hummer has played against while at Princeton, for the season mark of five Ivy Player of the Week honors.

It is Hummer's seventh career weekly honor, tying him for fifth on the career list. It is the most since Yale alum Greg Mangano, another former Hummer opponent, closed his career last season with eight awards. The record of nine belongs to Brown alum Earl Hunt. The Ivy League has been awarding weekly honors since 1985.

The award is Princeton's seventh Ivy Player of the Week honor this season, with one each for T.J. Bray and Will Barrett. That ties Princeton with last year's Penn team for the second-most Ivy POY honors in one season, three back of the record-holding 2010 Cornell team. Five weekly awards remain this season.

To earn the honor, Hummer led Princeton with 19 points per game in wins over Cornell (22) and Columbia (16), keeping Princeton undefeated in Ivy League play and helping the Tigers extend their home Ivy League win streak to 20 games. Hummer's senior class is 22-2 in Ivy games in Jadwin Gym.

Hummer also averaged 8.0 rebounds per game and went 16 of 18 (.889) from the free throw line on the weekend, dishing out an average of 5.5 assists between the two games. Hummer tied a career high with seven assists in the game against Columbia.

The Tigers (10-7, 3-0 Ivy) will return to Jadwin Gym this weekend to face Brown Friday at 7 p.m. and Yale Saturday at 6 p.m.
