At Princeton – 2014: led the varsity eight to a bronze medal at the Eastern Sprints while rowing in the bow… led Princeton to fourth-place finish at the IRA Championships, its best since a silver in 2006 … helped Princeton reclaim the Content Cup for the first time since 2011; Tigers also retained the Navy-Princeton Rowing Cup and the Childs Cup. 2013: rowed in the 6 seat and helped the 2V win a silver medal at Eastern Sprints after an undefeated regular season for the boat … helped 2V to grand final and fourth-place finish at the IRA national championships. Silver medal at Eastern Sprints in 2011 in the freshmen event … bronze medal at 2012 Eastern Sprints in the second varsity event.

Before Princeton – rowed two years in Varsity 4+ at Deerfield Academy … bronze medalist at 2010 NEIRA championships … recipient of the Coaches’ Award, awarded to the program’s top contributor … held school record for 2000m erg test … member of Team Quebec and represented province at 2009 Canada Summer Games in Summerside, PEI, won bronze in 4- …grew up a hockey player and switched to rowing in high school.

Personal – born May 17, 1991 … son of Blair and Debbie Mackasey … father works in professional hockey; mother is a special needs assistant at a local high school … youngest of four children; has two sisters Erin and Andrea, and a brother Blair (BJ) ’07 … enjoys travelling, biking, country music, and architecture … politics major with certificates in French and political economy.
