PRINCETON, N.J. (4/20/13) – Senior Russell Dinkins won the 800, while senior Austin Hollimon was second in the 400 hurdles at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Weaver Stadium on Saturday, April 20.
Dinkins won the 800 in a time of 1:51.26, beating out 35 other competitors. Hollimon was the runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles as he crossed the line at 52.44.
Dinkins and Hollimon collaborated with sophomore Daniel McCord and junior Tom Hopkins in the 4x400. The relay finished in third place at 3:15.58.
Hopkins and McCord joined freshmen Dre Nelson and John Hill in the 4x100 and the relay ran 42.01 for second place.
Hill went on to take third place in the 100-meter dash, and was the second collegian across the line at 10.74.
Junior Brad Pelisek recorded a PR in the decathlon as he accumulated 6,771 points to take third. Freshman Bryan Oslin was fifth with 5,541 points.
In the pole vault, junior David Coneway cleared 4.65 (15-3) to take fourth. Sophomore Tumi Akinlawon was fifth in the long jump. He leapt to 6.88 (22-7) on his second attempt. In the shot put, sophomore Scott Rushton threw to 16.00 (52-6) on his fourth throw to finish in fifth place.
Princeton will compete at the Penn Relays next weekend, April 25-27.
