PRINCETON, NJ (2/8/13) - The Princeton women's hockey team had a three-game win streak snapped as the Tigers fell 6-1 to Colgate on Friday, Feb. 8 at Hobey Baker Rink.

A four-goal first period gave Colgate the lead it needed and Princeton couldn't recover. The loss pushes Princeton into ninth place in the league standings and Colgate moves into eighth place.

The Raiders got on the board quickly, scoring within the first two minutes of the game. Taylor Craig picked up a pass from Stephanie Giannopoulos and beat netminder Kimberly Newell on the left side. Goals by Miriam Drubel and Jocelyn Simpson came just two minutes apart midway through the opening frame. Rachel Walsh pushed Colgate ahead 4-0 with five seconds to spare in the first.

Princeton replaced Newell with sophomore Ashley Holt in goal to start the second. Newell left the game with eight saves.

Megan Wickens increased Colgate's lead to 5-0 with the second period's lone goal at 14:39.

The Tigers finally broke threw 18 seconds into the third period. Senior Corey Stearns won a face off and pushed the put to senior Kelly Cooke. Cooke ripped a shot from the left side and caught Ashlynne Rando. Rando completed the night with 18 saves.

Brittany Phillips finished off the win with a goal at 2:35.

Holt made 12 saves during the final two periods as the Tigers fall to 9-13-2 overall and 4-11-2 in the ECAC.

The Tigers will host No. 4 Cornell tomorrow at 4 p.m., at Hobey Baker Rink when it will honor its three seniors.
