As Sabrina King prepares to enter her third season as head coach of the Princeton women’s volleyball team, she is excited to welcome five new players into the program. With six starters returning from last season and this impressive influx of talent, King is hopeful Princeton can take the final step after back-to-back second-place finishes.

Princeton will welcome Mary Claire Bartlett, Cara Mattaliano, Lauren Miller, Brittany Ptak and Ellie Shannon into the Class of 2017. This versatile group includes a trio of outside/rightside hitters, as well as a middle blocker and a setter, which well help add depth to all positions and potentially help fill the void left by three-time All-Ivy graduating senior Lydia Rudnick.

“I’m very excited about this group,” King said. “They bring both talent and high-level experience to our program, and they will add to the competition at several positions. They are also great people who are excited to become Princeton Tigers, and I’m confident they will add to the chemistry within our program.”

King will talk more about this group, and how it could factor into an already-experienced 2013 team, later this summer. For now, here is more information about the five members of the Class of 2017.
