At Princeton — 2012-13: served as co-captain for Princeton's first Ivy League championship team since 2009 … went 3-0 during the season. 2011-12: went 12-2 during the team season while playing in the bottom third of the lineup … went 2-1 during the Howe Cup championships, including 3-0 win over Trinity … went 5-1 against the Ivy League, including a 3-0 win over eventual national champion Harvard … had 3-2 victories against both Trinity and Dartmouth. 2010-11: shared team lead with 17 victories … joined teammate Alex Sawin as only Princeton players to go undefeated in the Howe Cup … rallied from 1-0 and 2-1 deficits for 3-2 win over eventual team champion Yale in semifinal; defeated both Penn and Trinity by 3-1 scores … seeded 30th in Ramsay Cup draw, she defeated four higher-seede players to win the consolation draw … led all Princeton players with five Ivy League victories in regular season. 2009-10: won 10 matches during her freshman season … recorded her biggest win during 5-4 team victory over Yale; rallied from match ball down for 3-2 win at the No. 8 position … won her first four collegiate matches, including Ivy League matches against Cornell and Brown … played as high as No. 5 in 3-0 win over Middlebury.

Before Princeton — a top-10 ranked player throughout her age group since she started playing at nine years old … graduate of Milton Academy, Cortes has been coached by Nadeem Osman and Chris Kane throughout her career … played varsity all four years at Milton, including playing No. 1 as a senior … named Team MVP after the 2008-09 season … placed fourth in the A Division of the 2009 NEISA Individual Championships … considers her best career win at the Harvard Frank Millet Squash Championships when she was 15; after beating players ranked above her just to reach the finals, Cortes topped Sarah Mumanachit in five games to win the championship.

Personal — born June 14, 1991 … daughter of Joseph Cortes and Sarah McVity Cortes … has an older sister, Cece, who plays squash for Harvard … also has a younger brother Cody … likes to ride horses and play lacrosse.
