If it's tennis you want to see and you're in town Friday and Saturday, Jadwin Gym's E level will be the place for you. Princeton's men's and women's teams will play a combined five matches over the two days, beginning at noon Friday with a women's match against Stony Brook and ending Saturday with a 4 p.m. men's match, also against Stony Brook.
In between will be a 5 p.m. women's match Friday against Seton Hall, a 9 a.m. men's match Saturday against Buffalo, and a noon women's match Saturday against Albany.
Princeton's women enter the weekend having last played on Feb. 19 against Rutgers in a 6-1 win in Jadwin Gym. The Tiger men have taken on a challenging schedule since their 5-0 start, with all four losses coming to teams ranked in the top 40 in the nation.
Two of the women's opponents, Albany and Stony Brook, will be new, while the Tiger women have faced Seton Hall nine times, all since 1995, with eight wins. Only one of those meetings has come with any of the current Tiger players, as Princeton defeated Seton Hall 7-0 last year in Jadwin Gym.
Princeton's men have faced both opponents in recent years, going 2-0 all-time against Buffalo with wins in 2012 and 2013, both in Jadwin Gym, and 11-2 against Stony Brook. Princeton has faced the Seawolves annually since the first meeting in 2001, with Stony Brook's wins coming in 2009 and 2010. All 13 meetings have taken place in Jadwin Gym.
While the Tiger men will have a pair of home matches next weekend as well, these will be the last home matches for Princeton's women until Ivy League play begins March 29 against Penn, either in Jadwin Gym or at the Lenz Tennis Center. In between, Princeton's women will head to Ohio and Florida, next weekend against Ohio State and during spring break against Florida International and Miami.
