The No. 9 Princeton women’s water polo team improved to 10-0 after sweeping the MAAC/CWPA Crossover in Cambridge, Mass. The Tigers closed the tournament with a 13-5 victory versus Iona Sunday to go 3-0 over the weekend.
Molly McBee led Princeton with four goals and four assists, both team highs, along with a pair of steals.
Kimi Klein, Diana Murphy and Katie Rigler netted twice, and Jessie Holechek had two steals, two steals and a goal.
Ashleigh Johnson collected nine saves and tallied three steals in the cage, as she made several leaping stops throughout the afternoon contest.
Princeton controlled the scoreboard from start to finish, but Iona remained in range and within a goal at three points in the first quarter. The Tigers managed to create a point cushion, 5-3, heading into the second and were able to hold off the Gaels for a 7-5 lead at halftime.
Johnson shutout Iona over the second half and the Tigers rattled off six more goals.
Princeton returns home to host Harvard live on ESPNU at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Mar. 2.
