The Princeton baseball team was swept by Florida Atlantic Saturday in doubleheader action in Boca Raton, Fla. The Tigers were handed a 9-1 loss to open the day and dropped a 6-2 decision in game two.

In game one, after a scoreless first inning, the Tigers had an opportunity to break onto board first. In the second inning with two outs and a bases loaded opportunity, Alex Flink grounded out sending the game into the bottom half of the inning.

In the bottom of the second, Florida Atlantic's Mike Spano hit an RBI single through the left side to break up the shutout. One out later, Geoff Jimenez hit an RBI ground out with runners on the corners and Mike Albaladejo added an RBI single through the left side to give the Owls a 3-0 lead.

FAU added a lone run in the third and rallied off five runs in the fifth, before Princeton responded with a solo run in the top of the ninth. The Tigers' Andrew Whitener led off with a single through the right side, before advancing to third during Jonathan York's at bat. York hit into a fielder's choice, but Florida Atlantic's second baseman committed an error, putting runners in scoring position. Tyler Servais brought Whitener home off an RBI single to center filed, but Princeton was unable to keep the inning alive.

Princeton's offense struggled to find momentum again in game two of Saturday's doubleheader at FAU. The Owls struck first with a lone run in the second inning, before the Tigers responded with a run of their own in the fourth. With one out and a runner on third, Steve Harrington singled through the left side to even the score 1-1.

In the bottom of the fifth, Florida Atlantic tallied its second five-run inning to hold a 6-1 advantage. In the sixth, Harrington, who went 2-for-4, added his second RBI of the game, hitting a two out RBI single through the right side. It would be the final offensive strike for the Tigers, as they were unable to add to their run total through the final three frames.

Princeton will conclude its four-game series at FAU on Sunday, Mar. 4 at 1 p.m.
