PRINCETON, N.J. (11/16/13) - Junior Cameron Porter scored twice to lead the Princeton men's soccer team to a 3-2 win over Yale in the regular-season finale on Saturday, Nov. 16 on Myslik Field at Roberts Stadium.

Porter's two goals makes him the Ivy League leading scorer this season with nine total tallies.

Junior Andrew Mills assisted on all three Princeton goals, a career high.

It wasn’t the start to senior day that the Tigers were expecting as Yale jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game. Princeton made some adjustments and then starting playing with the vim and vigor it had displayed all season, scoring three goals in the come-from-behind victory.

Cameron Kirdzik set up both Yale goals. He sent a cross into the box to Peter Jacobson for the header in the 2nd minute and played a long ball to Scott Armbrust in transition in the 10th minute.

Princeton got one back before the close of the first period as Porter scored his first of two in the 33rd minute. Freshman Brian Costa intercepted a pass and sent it to the top of the circle to Mills. Mills chipped the ball up to Porter on the right side and he turned and beating his two defenders and launched the ball into the far corner.

Sophomore Brendan McSherry notched his second goal of the year three minutes into the second half to knot the game at 2-2. The ball deflected off a Yale played to Mills. He settled the ball and pushed it ahead to McSherry who fired into the left corner for the equalizer.

The game winner came in the 63rd minute. Mills played the ball in the air and served it from the midfield to the top of box. Porter beat goalkeeper Blake Brown in a foot race and headed in the game-winning goal.

Princeton oushot Yale 12-9 thanks to a 9-3 differential in the second half. The Tigers had a 5-3 edge in corner kicks and pushed Yale into four offsides calls while not receiving an offsides call themselves.

Senior Seth MacMillan made two saves in his sixth win of the season.

Princeton concludes its season 7-9-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the Ivy League. Yale finishes 4-11-2 overall and 2-3-2 in the league.
