NEWARK, N.J. (10/25/13) - Junior Tucker Brockett's first career goal couldn't come at a better time as it came 45 seconds into overtime as the Prineton men's hockey team defeated Dartmouth 3-2 in the season opener of the Liberty Hockey Invitational at the Prudential Center.

Brockett went top shelf for the goal after picking up an Aaron Ave deflection to empty the bench.

Princeton grabbed a 2-0 lead early in the third, but Dartmouth knotted it up on a goal with 36.9 seconds left to send the game into overtime.

Senior netminder Sean Bonar was stellar in goal, impressing the crowd at the Prudential Center. He made 19 saves in the first period to keep the clean sheet. Bonar finished the game with 38 saves, as Dartmouth outshot Princeton 40-20.

Senior Jack Berger gave Princeton the lead with a power-play goal at 17:01 of the second period. Freshman Marlon Sabo ripped a shot from the left point that deflected off of senior Eric Carlson and to the left boards. Sophomore Jonathan Liau collected the puck and slipped the puck to Berger, who was coming in off a change of the fly. Berger spun at the left dot and shot glove side on Dartmouth's James Kruger.

Freshman Ben Foster net his first collegiate goal at 2:25 of the third period. Sophomore Kyle Rankin got the puck in the corner and fed junior Tom Kroshus at the point. Kroshus fired and Foster redirected on the doorstep. The goal went under review and was called a goal upon official review.

Less than two minutes later Jack Barre out Dartmouth on the board. Tim O'Brien stripped the puck on a Princeton breakout, skated in and slotted the puck to Barre.

The Big Green pulled Kruger for the extra skater and Eric Neiley found the back of the net. Brett Patterson pushed the back to the opposite blue and Neiley skated in and went backhand for the tally. Kruger finished the game with 17 saves.

Princeton plays Yale tomorrow at 7 p.m.

Princeton and Brown are both 1-0 in the tournament, as the Bears defeated defending national champion Yale 4-1 in the first game.
