Following the first day at the Mason Rudolph Championship in Tennessee, the Princeton women's golf team finds itself tied for eighth place in a very strong 15-team field.

Eleven of the 15 teams at the Rudolph event, hosted by Vanderbilt, were ranked in Golf World's preseason top 25 and four more received votes in the top 25. Arizona State, ranked No. 5 in the nation, leads the field after the first 18 holes at 3-under, four shots in front of UCLA and Vanderbilt.

Alabama's Stephanie Meadow, who was the only player to finish in front of Kelly Shon at the NCAA East Regional last spring, and Baylor's Hayley Davis top the individual leaderboard at 4-under, one shot ahead of N.C. State's Augusta James.

Senior Kelly Shon paced Princeton on the first day by standing tied for seventh with a 1-under 71. Hana Ku stands just outside the top 10, entering the second round tied for 14th at even par.

Princeton will tee off on the 10th hole beginning at 8:05 a.m. CT for Saturday's second round. Results for all teams are available here and Princeton's results from Friday's first round are available below.
