PRINCETON, N.J. (2/15/13) - A two-goal third period lifted Clarkson to a 3-2 come-from-behind win over the Princeton men's hockey team on Friday, Feb. 15 at Hobey Baker Rink.

Princeton had a 2-1 lead at the end of the second period scoring goals three minutes apart. Clarkson would get the game-tying goal with 5:30 to play and then tallied the game winner with 3:07 left in regulation.

Clarkson came out and dominated control of the puck in the first period, taking 15 shots to Princeton's seven. Junior netminder Sean Bonar kept the Tigers alive stopping all 15 chances. He had less work to do in the second period as shots were even at both ends 12-12.

Matt Zarbo ended the stalemate 1:02 into the second period when he skated down the left boards and sent a shot in on Bonar. Jarrett Burton was on the doorstep and picked up the rebound and pushed it back to Zarbo who beat Bonar on the second chance.

Senior Rob Kleebaum evened the game at 10:33 with help from sophomore Tom Kroshus. Both were battling with defenders on the right side boards and Kroshus grabbed possession and fed Kleebaum inside the circle. Kleebaum fired from the bottom of the circle and it got it past goalie Greg Lewis.

Senior defender Michael Sdao gave Princeton the lead at 13:12. Junior Andrew Calof picked up a loose puck in the corner and pushed it up the boards to Tyler Maugeri. Maugeri corralled the puck and fed Sdao at the blue line, who one-timed the puck into the back of the net.

Clarkson battled in the third period to find the equalizer and did so at 14:30 on a goal from Simon Bessette. Less than a minute later the Tigers took a tripping call and Clarkson used the momentum to score the go-ahead goal as TJ Moor popped in a power-play goal with help from Bessette and Paul Geiger.

Bonar finished the game with 35 saves for Princeton, Clarkson's Lewis stopped 25 shots. Princeton was 0 for 1 on the power play and 2 of 3 on the penalty kill.

Princeton falls to 9-11-4 overall and 7-7-3 in the league. Clarkson joins Princeton with 17 points with a 7-7-3 record and is now 8-14-7. The teams are tied for sixth place in the league standings, along with Dartmouth. Seven points separates 10 teams in the league.

The Tigers face St. Lawrence tomorrow, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. The Saints handed No. 1 Quinnipiac a 2-1 loss this evening.
