2011: Rachele Gyorffy played in all 29 games as a sophomore and scored 11 goals. She added 17 assists and 13 steals, while drawing 10 ejections. Gyorffy recorded three two-goals games in the first seven games of the season, netting two goals each against George Washington, Pacific and Harvard. Gyorffy added single goals in wins over Brown, Cal State Bakersfield, Sonoma State and St. Francis. Her 17 assists ranked third on the team and that included a pair of two-assist games against Brown and Villanova. She added a season-high three steals in two wins over George Washington and drew two ejections in the team's win over Villanova.
2010: Gyorffy appeared in 19 games as a freshman, scoring six goals, notching an assist, and adding five steals. Gyorffy's first goal came in a quarterfinal win over Iona at the ECAC Championship, and she also scored in a loss to Brown during the ECAC weekend. Gyorffy's season-high of two goals came in a loss at Bucknell and she added additional goals in a win over George Washington and a loss to Cal. Her lone assist came against Maryland at ECACs.
Gyorffy is a Sacramento native and attended Rio Americano High School. She began playing water polo in the seventh grade. In high school, she won four varsity letters and four section titles. She was voted the section’s most valuable player and first-team All-Metro as a senior. Gyorffy was also a high school all-american as a junior and senior. In addition to playing water polo at Rio Americano, she also earned four varsity letters in swimming and won sections as a junior. She was also part of the Youth National team as a high school freshman and sophomore. Gyorffy’s older sister Janelle attended Pomona College and played water polo there and her younger sister Victoria is a current member of the Pomona water polo team.Career Stats
