Dartmouth Outlasts Men's Tennis 4-3 in Marathon Match

Match notes: Zack McCourt held a 5-1 first-set lead before battling back to win the set in a tiebreaker, overcoming two set points ... McCourt saved three match points against him at 4-5 in the second set ... McCourt rallied from 3-1 in the second set and 4-1 in the third ... Colautti served for his match at 5-4 in the second set and then won the match on his sixth match point after saving two set points ... at third doubles, Princeton rallied from a 7-5 deficit to force a tiebreak and from 5-2 in the tiebreak to clinch the doubles point ... Dartmouth is the 11th ITA-ranked team Princeton has faced this season.
Order of finish: Doubles: 1,2,3; Singles: 5,3,2,4,6,1


Coach Billy Pate on the match:
"Quite simply, this was an incredble college match and it's unfortunate either team had to be on the losing end of it. I'm tremendously proud of the effort and poise our guys demonstrated. (Zack) McCourt did a wonderful job battling back from 1-4 down in the third set. Both he and (his opponent, Dartmouth's Dovydas) Sakinis had chances to seal the team win as both held multiple match points. Sometimes it's a game of inches and it just didn't go our way today. Nonetheless, we left it all out on the court and need to keep our heads up. We knew these were two evenly-matched squads and we expected this type of match. I give Dartmouth a lot of credit; they played well and are having one of their best seasons in many years. We'll have a good week of practice and prepare for another tough match at home for senior day versus Cornell."
